Oxygen Concentrator
An oxygen concentrator is a medical device that concentrates oxygen from ambient air by selectively removing nitrogen, resulting in an oxygen-enriched gas stream for therapeutic use.
Oxygen concentrators can deliver up to 99% pure oxygen. Since the air we breathe consists of approximately 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, the device removes nitrogen and supplies between 95–99% oxygen to individuals suffering from lung diseases or low blood oxygen levels.
These portable devices are designed for mobility and can be used anywhere. There are two main types of concentrators:
- Pulse Flow: Delivers oxygen only when the patient inhales.
- Continuous Flow: Delivers a constant stream of oxygen regardless of inhalation.
